FEBRUARY
Welcome Members and Visitors,
Mid-February is approaching fast. It’s almost time to trim those rose bushes and start planning your Spring/Summer garden. But don’t forget to start that book that’s been on your mind all winter. Chapter three has been churning around in your brain long enough. Words don’t fill a page without a little help from your two hands. Write it, type it, print it! That’s how it gets done.
As president I’m always looking for new ways to inspire our fellow members. Don’t hesitate to make suggestions, help find new speakers and share your news of any and all accomplishments. This is your club. Your contribution is important.
I would like to thank Steve Kampen for stepping into the Vice-presidents position. I would also like to thank Cherie Neal for all her hard work and help over the past year.
JANUARY
Welcome Readers and Writers:
Our weather so far has not been conducive to writing. With warm weather and sunshine we’ve all been inclined to play rather than sit and write. But now that the holidays are over, no more excuses. It’s time to put – bottom in chair – hands on the keyboard.
I came across this line, “When I am silent, I have thunder inside.” I don’t know who deserves the credit for it but I think it could be a great motivator. It is now time for each of us to get the “thunder” outside. Reach down to the soles of your feet and extract everything deep within and put it on paper. Our members support and encourage so don’t be shy about sharing your work.
Each of us has knowledge or experience in different fields of life. Twin Lakes Writers is a great place to share that knowledge and learn new ideas. I would like to encourage each of you to share what you know and learn something new. I’m looking forward to an exciting year and hope to see our membership grow.
Hope to see you all at our next meeting on January 21, 2012
